Welcome to Faceroll! I'm Nheenom, one of the founders.
This is a website created to collect all of mine and Archon's projects. I'd like to start off by pointing you to the Experimental Gameplay section, where I've uploaded my first entry, Directional Pressure. The whole idea with the Experimental Gameplay Project is to create a game fast, and alone, so I'll try to participate with at least one game for each theme.

My first entry in the Experimental Gameplay Project. This time it's about casual addiction, a thing the market truly is booming with today. What makes a game addicting, and "casual"?

One More Level has several good examples. Many of them are easy to understand and pick up, there's almost no learning curve at all. That doesn't necessarily mean the game is easy, it's just that it's more about a skill you develop through playing, not by reading manuals and guides.

You also have to be able to play the game for 5 minutes, and then stop. Schedules are filled to the brim with things to do, and the short breaks you take from your everyday life can easily be filled with casual gaming.

I suck at my own game.

But then there's the addicting part of the theme. One More Level, that I mentioned earlier, has the perfect name for this type of game. The game seems easy to further your progress in, if you could just time that press a little better, click that button a little faster, jump that fence at just the right moment.. The list goes on. When you're always close to improving your score, you keep trying to do it. When you finally do beat it, you have a new goal, a new target to reach.

Online scoreboards further this concept. Getting your (online) name famous is always an attractive bonus. And when you almost beat that ZombieDude23, the previous paragraph applies yet again.

In my game, Directional Pressure, you have a very easy task to complete. Hit the correct button, up, down, left or right, as fast as possible. A simple idea, a simple game, but yet so hard to master.

The gameplay itself is not new, nor the online high score list. But it was a fun challenge to take part in.

EDIT: Version 1.1 uploaded. Fixed a few bugs and added a visual effect when blocks disappear.

Note: You need the XNA 3.1 Redistributable in order to play.

Curse you Edible.
